NUTEC Group Celebrates 50th Anniversary

February 18th, 2025 was a momentous day for NUTEC Group as it marked its 50th anniversary. Celebrations have been taking place across the world in the past couple of weeks – in Mexico, where all HQ, NUTEC Bickley and NUTEC Fibratec staff attended a grand party; in the US, where NUTEC Inc and NPC teams came together for a similar event; and also in Spain, home of NUTEC Procal, with the group President and CEO in attendance at all three.

As employees gathered to mark the occasion, they reflected on some important milestones along the route: becoming the very first manufacturer of ceramic fiber in Mexico (1985); going into full production of furnaces (1990); opening the Santa Catarina facility (1999); acquiring Bickley and forming NUTEC Bickley (2001); starting up in Spain (2007); building the third line in Ramos Arizpe in the record time of just six months (2015); forming NUTEC Inc (2016) and NPC (2021) in the USA, and numerous others besides. In many cases, these were personal recollections, given NUTEC’s proud history of long-serving personnel.

NUTEC Group President, Genaro Cueva, who had taken up all operational responsibilities from his father back in 1993, recorded a video message on this 50th anniversary so that he could talk to everyone, wherever they may be. He was clear about what was the keystone holding everything together: “Without a doubt, people are this company's main asset. I love to see people joining NUTEC and choosing to build a career here.”

In a wide-ranging talk, Genaro placed great emphasis on mutual respect and trust. “These are two guiding principles that I identify very clearly,” he says. “Every success we celebrate and every challenge we face is shared with those who trust us. Our mission is not just to grow, but also to drive our clients' success as a fundamental part of our vision.” As to what’s required to make things tick, “well, a bit of luck and a lot of hard work!”

On seeing NUTEC reach its first half-century, Genaro was keen to register his recognition of all the important support received down the years. "I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone,” he said, “and when I say everyone, I mean everyone: NUTEC employees, past, present, and future. To our customers worldwide who have trusted us and bought our products and services, we are very grateful, and we will always be here. I also want to thank our suppliers because thanks to them, with their equipment and services, we have the capacity to remain a thriving company in these times."

With a constant focus on technology and responsibility, NUTEC Group hasn’t just advanced; it has taken great care to protect the future that it’s involved in creating. Every solution, every product and service improvement, is the result of a team committed to exceeding expectations and building a lasting legacy.

“Today, 50 years after formation, we are still a proudly Mexican company with a global presence. We are driven by the passion of those who came before us and the talent of our people, who are the heart of everything we do,” concludes Genaro.
