REFRACTORY

Transforming Refractory shapes with precision kilns from NUTEC Bickley

NUTEC Bickley and the Refractory Industry

The world of firing refractories as we know it today would not be the same without all of the technological kiln developments implemented by NUTEC Bickley over the years. If we go back in history, we can see that all of the modern kilns we encounter in the refractories industry today include many of the features that were originally developed by NUTEC Bickley.

NUTEC Bickley has vast know-how in designing tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns and Carbell® kilns to fire all types of refractory shapes.

NUTEC Bickley supplies kilns with the latest Ecombustion technology to fire refractories from 300°C (570°F) up to 1,850°C (3,360°F).

Processes

Curing: Temperatures from 150°C (300°F) to 350°C (660°F). Air movement and volatile removal are essential, and exhausts generally need to be treated with afterburners or RTO units.

Tempering: Temperatures from 350°C (660°F) to 750°C (1,380°F). Air movement and volatile removal are essential, and exhausts generally need to be treated with afterburners or RTO units.

Firing: Temperatures from 750°C (1,380°F) to 1,850°C (3,360°F). Attention paid to temperature uniformity as well as fuel consumption.

Technology

SCADA

With our SCADA systems, kilns operators are able to have complete control of their firing process, enhancing efficiency and productivity.

IMPS™

NUTEC Bickley’s unique firing and cooling pulsing control system provides a perfect solution in relation to temperature uniformity as well as fuel efficiency.
