All about our burners from the Fives North American Magna-Flame line

Fives North American's Magna-Flame burner has been serving the industrial furnace and boiler industry for over 25 years. With its more than 1,000 units in operation, this product helps the user to solve some of today’s environmental emissions problems.

These burners use rapid mixing technology and internal chamber gas recirculation to reduce NOx and CO emissions to below the most demanding regulatory requirements.

They can operate with natural gas and/or LP gas, liquid fuels such as diesel, fuel oil, and other alternative liquid fuels.

1.-Magna-Flame RM™ – low emissions dual-fuel burner

Ideal for use in boilers, industrial furnaces, air heaters, dryers, calciners and incinerators.

• High flame intensity

• Thermal capacity from 15 to 150 million Btu/hr

• Turndown up to 10:1 (gas), 5:1 (oil)

• Low emissions with FGR (flue gas recirculation)

• Heavy duty construction

• No moving parts

• Gas and liquid fuels, including heavy oils such as fuel oil

• Pre-engineering and after-market services available

2.-Magna-Flame™ burners – dual-fuel

• Dual-fuel, gas or oil burners (light or heavy grade oil)

• Conventional low speed and radiant front flame pattern

• Thermal capacity from 12 to 56 million Btu/hr

• Typical applications are non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces, steel heating, dryers and air heaters

• Wide range of stability

• They can operate in combustion chambers with temperatures up to 1,205ºC (2,200ºF)

3.- Magna-Flame™ burners – oil and dual-fuel wide flame

• Dual-fuel, gas or oil burner (light or heavy grade oil)

• Typical shape of the flame is short and wide

• Thermal capacity from 18 to 75 million Btu/hr

• Applications include boilers, air heaters, incinerators, and gypsum calcinators

• Wide range of stability

• Combustion chamber temperatures up to 1,205ºC (2,200ºF)

4.- Hot Air Magna-Flame™ burners

The Series 6820 burners are designed to work with preheated combustion air. They are used in steel reheat furnaces, glass smelters, non-ferrous smelters, rotary calciners and other applications where very radiant, clear, low-velocity flames are required.

• They use preheated combustion air at temperatures up to 650ºC (1,200ºF)

• They burn gases from 500 Btu/scf low calorific value through to fuels such as natural gas, for example, and light or heavy liquid fuels

This model is the low NOx burner that operates with very low emissions, so taking care of the environment.

Features

• Can operate with combustion air temperatures up to 650ºC (1,200ºF)

• Capacities ranging from less than 1 million Btu/hr to over 20 million Btu/hr

• Excellent temperature distribution

• Easy to retrofit on existing installations

• Stable, clean combustion without excess air

Advantages

• Low emissions with preheated combustion air

• Designed for low excess air operation

• Low NOx, CO and CO2 emissions

• Does not require FGR (flue gas recirculation), a factor that can affect efficiency by up to 15%

• Compact and robust design

6.- Magna-Flame™ LEx ultra-low NOx
